Richard Simmons, Susan Powter, Jane Fonda, Tony V. Iaquinto. Tony who? Can't quite place the name? Well, rest assured; if he has anything to say about it in the near future the name Tony V. Iaquinto, or more likely his company Commit to be Fit, will become just as recognizable throughout Florida as the name of many famous fitness and weight-loss gurus!
In fact, the Jacksonville, Florida native believes he has what it takes. A solid Fitness and Weight Management program plus a dynamic motivating personality and presentation to reach the top of the field. Iaquinto, forty-four, is a Certified Fitness and Sports Nutrition Professional. He has created a fitness consulting firm called Commit to be Fit, Inc. Over the last 20 years, he has worked in one of the most exclusive health spas in the world, as owner and president of Personal Fitness, Inc., fitness director for numerous health clubs, co-owner of a gym, personal trainer for royalty, and has also competed in numerous bodybuilding and triathlon competitions. The goal of the company is to educate, motivate, and demonstrate the needs of physical fitness and proper weight management to everyone! In addition to his role as President of Commit to be Fit, Mr. Iaquinto also serves on the Jacksonville Mayor's Council for Fitness and Well-Being. Meeting once a month, the goal of the council is to increase awareness of health and fitness issues through various special events, which are sponsored by various city, state, and federal agencies. This allows Mr. Iaquinto the opportunity to meet with other agencies involved with preventative health care promotion.
Whether Mr. Iaquinto is ultimately successful in his endeavor may rest largely on two factors: his own personal appeal, and to a greater extent, the validity of his programs. As regards to the first ingredient, a visit with Mr. Iaquinto leaves little doubt that he has the potential to rise to the top of the fitness market; the man exudes enough energy and confidence to make you feel he's the right person for the job. He certainly leaves a strong first impression as an individual with the power to motivate.
But what about their Customized Fitness and Weight Management Program? What exactly is it, how does it differ from similar programs, and how did Mr. Iaquinto come to formulate it? Iaquinto says theories upon which these programs are based began to take shape over 20 years ago when, as a fitness instructor at the exclusive Palm Air Spa, he noticed that the guests were exercising and eating five small meals per day, which caused them to lose an average of five pounds per week. He left the spa to work exclusively for a Crown Prince. In the next six months, he helped him lose over 100 pounds! After that experience, he created a fitness consulting firm and called it Personal Fitness, Inc. He was then introduced to a new technology known as Bioelectrical Impedance, which is used to measure body fat. He furnished fitness consulting services to professional sports teams, law enforcement training academies, health clubs and Olympic swim and dive teams. This test gives you hydration levels, body fat percentage, lean body mass, and calories your body burns during exercise. This is a medical diagnostic test and is the most accurate way to measure body fat. There is so much information the test provides it was easy to see if certain programs worked for or against your goals.
Mr. Iaquinto says he started to pay more attention to nutrition because there are major differences in energy requirements due to several factors, including lean body mass, sex, and age. Therefore, there are different amounts of protein, carbohydrates, and fats that men and women need during different types of exercises, such as aerobic exercise or strength training.
Once he became certified in sports nutrition, he then put together the information from the body fat test and combined it with the dietary guidelines acknowledged by the American Dietetic Association into one unique package.
The dynamic fitness and weight management program has helped his clients lose between 15 and 30 pounds of fat in less than 90 days! These programs bring an excellent balance between cardiovascular and strength training with a certain amount of protein, carbohydrates, and fats per meal combination that helps the body burn fat and develop more lean mass.
Commit to be Fit, Inc., Jacksonville's premier fitness consulting firm, offers state of the art body fat testing at all of the major health clubs and health food stores in the northeast Florida area. The company specializes in customized fitness and weight management programs. In addition, they can provide personal training, corporate wellness, and lectures on health and fitness.
